How the Layalia Afriecq program works
A structured, phased path through the Therapeutic Community model — designed around participation, responsibility, and gradual re-entry, not a fixed clock.
The Therapeutic Community method
In a Therapeutic Community, the community itself — peers, staff, and shared daily structure — is the primary agent of change. Rather than treating addiction as an isolated symptom, the model addresses behavior, mindset, relationships, and lifestyle together, through structured participation and mutual accountability.
Three phases, one continuous path
01 · Orientation & Assessment
Intake, safety planning, and a personalized understanding of each resident's history, needs, and goals. Typically the first 1–2 weeks.
02 · Core Community Program
Daily structure, peer groups, house roles, and guided reflection — the heart of the TC model. Duration is individualized.
03 · Re-entry & Aftercare
Gradual reintegration with family and work, plus ongoing alumni check-ins and family guidance sessions.
Common questions about the program
Duration is individualized to each resident's progress rather than fixed in advance — during intake, our team will walk you through what a realistic timeline looks like for your situation.
Yes — family guidance sessions are part of the re-entry and aftercare phase, and we encourage ongoing family communication throughout, where appropriate and consented to by the resident.
Days follow a consistent structure: morning community meeting, assigned house responsibilities, peer group sessions, personal reflection time, and evening check-ins.
